CHERRY STREUSEL COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
1 (16 oz.) can pitted, sour cherries, well drained
Streusel Topping

Combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and milk; mix well (batter will be stiff). Fold in cherries. Turn batter into greased and floured 9 inch square pan, spread evenly. Sprinkle with topping.

Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Cut and serve warm.

STREUSEL TOPPING:

Combine: 3 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon

With fingers, work in 3 tablespoons softened butter. Stir in 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans.
