NO FAIL MERINGUE 
4 egg whites (chill bowl)
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla (chill beater)

NOTE: Secret to meringue is in the beating.

Beat eggs until stiff on high, turn mixer on low, add sugar a small amount at a time. Add salt. Add vanilla and return mixer to high. Beat until whites stand in peaks. To assure pie is hot on top, run in oven 10 minutes before putting meringue on. Top pie with meringue. Cook 10 minutes at 350 degrees or until brown. NOTE: Count cooking time for pie.
