OLD FASHIONED MACARONI AND
CHEESE
 
2 c. macaroni
2 c. thin white sauce
3 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook macaroni as package directs. Place half the macaroni in ungreased 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cheese; repeat. Pour white sauce over casserole. Dot with butter. Bake 35 to 45 minutes.

THIN WHITE SAUCE

Per 1 cup: 1/2 to 1 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 c. milk

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
