PICKLED BEETS 
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/3 c. cider vinegar
1/2 c. water
2 (16 oz.) cans small beets
1 med. onion, thinly sliced

Combine first 6 ingredients, stirring well. Add beets and onions; toss well to coat. Cover and chill several hours.
