POPPY SEED CAKE 
1 Duncan Hines cake mix
Eggs
2 tbsp. poppy seed

FILLING:

4 or 5 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1 1/4 c. half & half
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 3/4 c. nuts, chopped

7 MINUTE ICING:

2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Use a Duncan Hines cake mix to which I add 1 extra egg white and 2 tablespoons poppy seed. While baking, prepare filling. Put in double boiler: egg yolks, sugar, flour, half & half, vanilla and nuts. Cook all together until thick, usually until cake is done. Put on top of cake. Frost with 7 Minute icing of: 2 egg whites, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1/3 cup water, 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar. Put in double boiler, beat with electric mixer for 7 minutes. Add a small handful of miniature marshmallows. Frost cake.
