CHOCOLATE CHIP/APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
2 eggs
2 c. chunky applesauce
2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. brown sugar
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips

Cream sugar, oil, and eggs. Add applesauce, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cocoa. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar, nuts and 1 cup of the chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Immediately after taking cake out of oven, sprinkle with the rest of the chocolate chips.
