MANDEL BREAD 
3 eggs
1 c. oil
1 scant c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. chocolate bits
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Beat eggs well. Add oil slowly, then sugar, all in mixmaster. Sift dry ingredients together and add, stirring until well blended. Dough will be heavy. Add remaining ingredients. Blend.

Divide into logs on floured board. With floured hands form the logs on cookie sheet. Make 2 or 3 long logs or 4 to 5 short ones on a well greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or longer until lightly browned. Remove from oven and slice diagonally. Turn and bake 15 minutes until nicely brown, on the cut side.
