LIPTAUER 
1 tbsp. instant minced onion
2 tsp. powdered mustard
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 anchovy fillets, finely minced
1 tbsp. caraway seed
1 tbsp. water
2 tsp. warm water
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. capers, finely minced
1/16 tsp. ground white pepper

Combine minced onion in water; let stand 10 minutes to rehydrate. Mix powdered mustard with warm water; let stand 10 minutes for flavor to develop.

In a small mixing bowl cream butter. Gradually add cream cheese, blending well. Add rehydrated onion and mustard along with remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly.

If desired double recipe and pack mixture into a 4 cup mold. Chill until firm. To unmold, dip quickly in hot water. Turn out onto a serving dish. Garnish with paprika and parsley flakes and serve with crackers or bread rounds. Yield: Approximately 2 cups cheese spread.
