FROSTED FRENCH COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. ground walnuts
2 c. raisins

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs, vanilla. Mix soda well with water add to creamed mixture with vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon. Blend well by hand into first mixture add walnuts and raisins. Spread out onto a well greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes. Ice as soon as taken out of oven with your favorite icing. Powdered sugar. When cool cut into squares.
