HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
4 eggs
2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter

Beat eggs; gradually add sugar, beating until fluffy and light colored. Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt; beat well. Add vanilla. Heat milk with butter almost to boiling, stir quickly into batter. Beat slightly.

Pour at once into ungreased 9 inch or 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Remove from oven and invert pan until cool, then remove cake. Good plain or top with strawberries and whipped cream or your favorite icing.
