CORN CHOWDER 
3 slices bacon
1 c. chopped onion
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 chopped tomato
1 chopped green pepper
1 minced garlic clove
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. salsa
1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 c. fresh corn

Cook bacon until crisp, then crumble. Cook onion in bacon drippings until tender. Bring all to a boil except bacon, simmer 20 minutes; ladle soup into bowl, top with bacon. Serves 5 to 6.
