BANANA DREAM CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. grated orange rind
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. buttermilk or sour milk
3/4 c. rolled oats
1 c. mashed bananas
Whole pecans
Orange sections

Cream butter and sugars thoroughly. Add eggs and orange rind; beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Blend in oats and bananas.

Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8 x 1 1/2-inch round pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes; cool. Fill and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting. Decorate with pecans and orange sections. Yield: 1 layer cake.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

2 (3 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1/4 tsp. orange extract
3 c. sifted confectioners sugar, about

Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add orange extract and 1 cup of the sugar; beat well. Add remaining sugar gradually, beating well after each addition.
