CHERRY - BERRY JAM 
2 1/2 c. pitted sweet cherries or frozen loose pack cherries, thawed
2 c. fresh strawberries
4 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
1 3/4 oz. powdered pectin

Grind or finely chop cherries to measure 1 1/2 cups. Mash strawberries to measure 1 cup. In large bowl combine cherries, berries and sugar. Let stand 10 minutes.

In small saucepan, combine water and the powdered pectin. Bring to a rolling boil. Boil hard, uncovered for 1 minute, stir constantly. Stir hot pectin into fruit and stir for 3 minutes. Ladle into clean 1/2 pint jars; seal and label. Let stand several hours at room temperature until set. Store in the refrigerator for 3 weeks or the freezer for 3 months. Makes 5 half pints.
