CARAMEL OATMEAL BARS 
50 caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. flour
2 c. oats, old fashioned or quick
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. melted butter
1 sm. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Melt caramels in milk (microwave is easiest!). Combine remaining ingredients except for chocolate chips and nuts. Press half of this mixture in 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chips and nuts. Spread melted caramel over top. Sprinkle crumbs of remaining mixture over top and bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes longer.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
