PEAS N' OKRA 
4 c. fresh field peas
4 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 lb. salt pork
1 tsp. sugar
10 pods okra, cut up

Pour water into pot and add all ingredients, except okra. Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. Add okra and cook until vegetables are tender.
