ALMOND TOFFEE 
Melt in large pan 1 pound butter. Add 3 cups white sugar after boiling a few minutes. Add 1 1/3 cups white Karo, stirring all times, boil at medium heat for 15-17 minutes or until reaches 260 degrees. Add 1 pound halved almonds. Turn up heat and boil fast and stir all the time about 25 minutes or until 290 degrees. Have shallow pans ready and buttered, at least 2 jelly roll pans. Spread thin. Cool.

Melt 1 pound Hershey candy in top of double boiler. Spread over cooled toffee. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.

Helpful Hints:

1. Easier to do with 2 people.

2. Use wooden spoon with holes.

3. When candy gets thick and foamy, hold pan flat on heat, so wear gloves, pan gets hot.

4. When spreading on tray work fast as candy thickens fast. Have some one spread and some one pour. Delicious.
