HUNGARIAN PASTRY 
1 1/2 stick butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks, save egg whites
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Apricot preserves
Nut meats

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and lastly vanilla. Mix well and line cookie sheet, pressing firmly down. Spread apricot preserves on top of pastry. Beat egg whites stiff and spread on preserves. Sprinkle egg whites with nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
