2 c. flour, sifted 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cake Fleishman's yeast, dissolved 3/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tbsp. shortening, melted Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Add dissolved yeast to dry ingredients. Add melted shortening. Dough will be soft. Turn all out on floured board and knead the dough quickly and lightly until smooth and elastic. Roll out 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured cutter. Place on greased pan and let rise until double - 1/2 hour. When putting rolls in pan, melt enough oil to turn each roll (gives oil on top). Prick tops with fork. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. |
