CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. butter or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. hot water
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. white flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2/3 c. soy flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. or 12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)

Cream butter or shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar together. Add eggs, hot water and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Sift together and add: flour, whole wheat flour, soy flour, salt and soda. Add 2 cups of chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
