1 c. butter, softened to room temperature 1 c. brown sugar 1 egg yolk 2 tsp. vanilla 1 7/8 c. all purpose flour 6 (1.65 oz.) milk chocolate bars 1 c. chopped toasted almonds or pecans In mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; gradually beat in flour until smooth (dough will be thick). Spread evenly onto ungreased 16 x 14 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and puffy. Remove from oven. Arrange chocolate bars evenly over crust. Let stand for 5 minutes to soften. Spread chocolate evenly over crust; sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool. Cut into squares. Yields 40 squares. |
