SAVORY RICE SAUSAGE 
1 lb. sausage (I use 1/2 lb.)
1 med. green pepper, finely chopped
1 1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 pkg. chicken noodle soup mix
1 pkg. chicken with rice soup mix
1 c. rice
1 c. chopped celery
4 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. salt
1 c. slivered almonds or celery leaves
1/4 c. melted butter

Brown sausage; pour off fat. Saute green pepper, onion and celery in small amount of fat (grease from sausage or butter). Combine soup mix, rice, and water; cover and simmer 20 minutes.

Add vegetable mixture, sausage and salt. Pour into baking dish. Cover with slivered almonds or celery leaves. Sprinkle with melted butter. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Delicious! Given to me many years ago by Mary Taylor Timberlake.
