APPLESAUCE FRUIT CAKE 
3 c. applesauce (2 cans)
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. melted butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
4 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped candied cherries
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped

Put applesauce in 3 quart granite pan. Heat on stove 10 minutes. Add soda and salt, stirring once in a while. Remove from stove and add the remaining ingredients in order into the pan. Stir well after adding each ingredients. Grease and flour tube pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1/2 hour, then at 300 degrees for 1 hour. This fruit cake is real good and keeps well, stays moist.
