1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. applesauce
1 scant c. shortening, melted
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. raisins
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. mixed fruit
1 c. dates
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts

Put mixture in angel food cake pan or 1/2 mixture in 4 x 8 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. NOTE: May need to add a little more flour. Check with toothpick, when toothpick comes out clean, cake is done.
