GREEN BEANS COUNTRY STYLE | |
1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed (frozen okay, canned needs no precooking) 4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces 1 c. sliced onion rings (red is pretty) 3 tbsp. butter Salt and pepper to taste Place bean and bacon in sauce pan; add enough water to cover. Boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beans are crisply tender (about 20 minutes with fresh or frozen); drain. Return to pan and add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onion is crisply tender (about 5 minutes). |
