COUNTRY PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 c. grated American cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce (2 c.)
3 c. cooked rice

Combine beef, crumbs, onion, pepper, seasonings and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Pat mixture onto bottom and sides of greased 10" pie plate. Combine rice and remaining tomato sauce and 1/2 cup cheese. Spoon into meat shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake 5 minutes more. Crust is savory ground beef. Serves 6.
