CHEWY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES | |
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1 c. chopped nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Allow chocolate to melt in a heat proof dish in oven while mixing other ingredients. Put sugar, butter, egg and vanilla in bowl. Mix until blended. Pour melted chocolate into mixture. Stir. Pour flour in sifter and sift gently, sift flour with baking powder. Stir 1/2 flour mixture into butter. Add milk. Stir batter until smooth. Add rest of flour and chopped nuts. Mix batter until lumps disappear. Pour batter in buttered 9 inch square pan. Bake 30 minutes in moderate oven. |
