QUICK RAISIN BREAD 
1 1/2 cups raisins
3/4 cup walnuts
1/3 cup soft butter
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour, sifted
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Chop raisins and walnuts.

Mix butter and sugar, beat in eggs separately, one at a time. Add vanilla.

Stir in raisins and nuts. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Blend into batter mixture with milk. Batter will be stiff.

Put into a well-greased 9x5x3inch loaf pan. Let stand about 20 minutes.

Bake at 350°F for about 60 to 70 minutes. Cool on wire rack for 5 minutes before turning out.
