4 cloves garlic
2 tbsp. soft white bread crumbs
pinch of salt
1 tbsp. wine vinegar

Place garlic, bread crumbs and salt into a mortar and pound to a paste. Gradually add enough vinegar to dilute the paste to the consistency of thick cream. Serve on crackers.
