2 c. baking soda
1 c. cornstarch
1 1/4 c. cold water

Stir together in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. When mixture becomes the consistency of mashed potatoes, turn onto plate and cover with damp cloth to cool. When cool enough to handle, shape as you wish.

Let dry overnight, then finish (paint, color, etc.) as desired. Unused clay can be stored in airtight bag in refrigerator. Bring clay to room temperature before using.
