GRANDMA'S TEA CAKES | |
Make a well in 1/2 gallon of plain flour. Into well add 1 1/2 teaspoons soda, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring, 3 eggs, 1 cup pure cane syrup, 3/4 cup bacon grease. Rinse syrup and grease cup with 1/4 cup of cold water. Mix and gradually work flour into mixture until stiff enough to rill (not too stiff). Roll out and cut into square or any shape desired. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 5 minutes. |
