WESSON FRUIT CAKE 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. Wesson oil
4 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. orange juice or wine
1 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. cherries, cut up
1 c. mixed fruit
1 c. pineapple
1 c. preserves
3 c. pecans

Heat oven to 275 degrees. Put pan of water on lower rack. Line cake pan with greased brown paper. Mix sugar oil and eggs; sift in 2 cups flour, salt, baking powder and spices. Then add juice. Mix remaining flour with fruit and nuts and beat well. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until done. Wrap in foil and put brandy or wine on cake occasionally.
