PFEFFERNEUSA 
1/2 lb. butter
3 3/4 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. candied fruit (pineapple and lemon)
1 c. nuts, run fruit and nuts through food grinder
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. anise

Mix well. Chill. Dough overnight. Roll dough out in long strips to the thickness of your ring finger. Cut off in 1/4 inch cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
