ITALIAN SPAGHETTI OR LASAGNA SAUCE | |
1/2 c. chopped onions 2 tbsp. salad oil 1 lb. beef hamburger 4 oz. mushrooms 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato puree 1 (7 oz.) can tomato paste 4 c. tomato juice 1 c. water 1/4 c. chopped parsley 1 tbsp. oregano 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1 tsp. accent 1 bay leaf In skillet cook onion in oil until almost tender, add beef and brown lightly, add sliced mushrooms. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until thick. Remove bay leaf. Serve with spaghetti or lasagna. |
