HOMEMADE MAPLE SYRUP 
1 3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. water

Combine and bring to a boil. Cover and cook 3 minutes. Cool slightly. Add:

1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring

Cover saucepan for a few minutes as syrup cooks to melt down crystals.

This is great! Was looking for a HFCS free alternative for my son that was still budget friendly. I actually didn't have maple extract and used raspberry extract to make raspberry syrup and it turned out great! :) YUM!

We were out of syrup and this filled in for pancakes this morning. Kids LOVED it, but it is very sweet and definitely not as thick as store bought syrup.
