BASIC SWEET ROLL DOUGH
2 cakes dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 c. milk, scalded
5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon or as desired
1/4 c. butter

Mix sugar, salt, scalded milk and 1/2 cup butter. Add 2 cups flour. Mix warm water with yeast and add beaten eggs. Add to milk mixture. Let rest about 10 minutes. Add the rest of the flour as you keep kneading. Dough should be a little sticky. Let rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and let rise again. Roll out dough and spread with butter and cinnamon mixture, roll up and cut into 1-inch slices. Let rise again until double. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
