DONUTS 
1 c. milk
1/4 c. lard
1 c. cooked mashed potatoes
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 pkg. Red Star yeast

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water (not hot). Mix all ingredients and yeast. Let stand overnight. Work down, cut with donut cutter. Deep fry. Roll in confectioners' sugar or ice with a thick paste of confectioners' sugar and water.
