BELLE'S SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE | |
1 cup apples, apricots or plums, cored/pitted or hot pepper jelly 1 tbsp. white or cider vinegar 1 tsp. soy sauce 3 cloves garlic 1 tsp. grated refrigerated horseradish (optional) small knob of ginger, peeled (size of a dime) Pinch of cayenne pepper (or 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes) Wash, peel and core apples or remove pits from fruit. Place all ingredients in food processor or blender and process until very smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning; add a little honey if you prefer a sweeter sauce, a pinch of salt or drop of soy sauce, cayenne pepper, if desired, or garlic powder, to taste. If you prefer a thicker sauce, a tablespoon of Thicken-Up can be blended in. Refrigerate until ready to use. Serve in small dipping cups along with pizza rolls, chicken fingers or wings, egg rolls, etc. Submitted by: Belle |
