CAJUN-YANKEE APPLE DELIGHT | |
1/2 c. minus 2 tbsp. flour 3/4 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. allspice 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped apples 1/2 c. walnuts Mix first 6 ingredients. Stir in egg and vanilla. Fold in chopped apples and nuts. Turn into well-greased 8-inch pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until slightly brown and crusty. Serve topped with ice cream or whipped topping. HINTS: Nuts are optional. Spices may be used to suit taste. This recipe doubles and triples nicely to serve the crowd. Served warm topped with vanilla ice cream, it's delicious. This does not keep well. There's never any left over at my house to keep. However, any leftovers you have may be eaten in a bowl with milk for breakfast. |
