OATMEAL TOLL-HOUSE COOKIES 
2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
12 oz. chocolate chips
2 tsp. hot water
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. oatmeal

Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Add chips, water and vanilla. Stir in oatmeal. Bake 375 degrees 12 minutes.
