BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 lg. pkg. seedless raisins
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. boiling water

Let stand overnight or until cool. Sift together:

4 c. flour (or whole wheat flour)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

Beat together:

2 eggs
2 c. sugar

Add raisin mixture and flour alternately to egg-sugar mixture. Beat well after each addition. Optional: You may add 1 cup nutmeats or 1 cup candied fruit. Lastly add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Bake in 4 loaf pans (well greased) 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/4. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees or until done when tested.
