2 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and vanilla and beat well. Stir in dry ingredients. Chill until dough is easy to handle. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut in any shape desired. Can sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees depends on your oven 6 to 7 minutes.
