LEMON FILLING 
1 c. sugar
1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1 egg or 2 yolks
1 c. milk
1 tsp. butter
Rind & juice of 1 lemon

Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add egg, milk, lemon juice and rind. Mix thoroughly and boil until thick. Remove from heat and add butter. Cool and spread on cake.
