LAYERED JELLO SALAD 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. pretzels, crushed
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
3 tbsp. sugar
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
2 (9 oz.) Cool Whip
6 oz. strawberry Jello
2 c. boiling water
1 qt. strawberries

Mix first 3 ingredients and press into 9 x 13-inc pan - bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cream together cream cheese and sugar. Add one (9 ounce) Cool Whip, Jello, boiling water, mix and add 1 quart strawberries. Put in pan. Let set. Then top with Cool Whip. You can save some crumbs from crust to sprinkle on top of Cool Whip.

Variations: Use 1 package of Lorna Doone cookies instead of pretzels. If using cookies, do not use sugar.
