BLONDE BROWNIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/3 c. butter or vegetable shortening and 1 tbsp. water
1 egg
1/2 pkg. chocolate chips

Melt butter in saucepan. Remove. Add 1 cup brown sugar. Cool slightly. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add flour mixture (first 4 items) a little at a time, mixing well. Spread in greased square pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
