LUSCIOUS APRICOT BARS 
2/3 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Confectioners' sugar

Rinse apricots, cover with water; boil 10 minutes, drain, cool, chop. Mix butter, granulated sugar, and 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pack into a greased 8x8x2 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.

Sift together 1/3 cup flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs. Mix in sifted dry ingredients, vanilla, nuts, apricots. Spread this mixture over baked layer. Bake about 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan, cut into 32 bars and roll in confectioners' sugar.
