STURDY BEAN SOUP 
1 c. beans, kidney, pinto or navy, soaked
1/2 c. soft bean, lentil or split peas
1 c. each carrots, celery & diced potatoes
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. oregano

Simmer beans in 6 cups of water until tender. Add ham bone to beans if available. When beans are tender add balance of ingredients. Simmer until tender.
