4 c. fireweed buds (packed) 4 c. water 4 c. sugar 2 pkgs. Sure Jell 2 1/2 capfuls lemon juice Boil flowers in water until blossoms lose color. Add lemon juice and Sure Jell. Boil 1 minute. Add sugar and boil (rolling) 1 minute. Skim foam from top. Pour into hot, sterilized jars. Top with paraffin or lids. | |

Paraffin? I have not made this recipe but I would strongly recommend against using paraffin as a sealing mechanism because it is extremely difficult if not impossible to get it to seal because it shrinks as it cools. Use 2-piece snap lids - very reliable!
