OVEN-BAKED BACON | |
This is a great way to make pans of bacon for a crowd, and it doesn't spatter grease. Really easy. This works well with SPAM, bologna and little sausages too. 1 cup all-purpose flour (I use unbleached) 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper bacon (thick sliced is better!) Mix flour with brown sugar. Add 1 tablespoon ground black pepper, or more if you like. Keep in a plastic container for bacon emergencies. This is enough to prep 3 or more pounds of bacon. Dredge each bacon slice in the flour mixture, lay on a broiler pan or wire rack placed on a cookie sheet with raised sides. Bake in a preheated 350°F, about 8 minutes or until your preferred crispness. Watch carefully so it does not burn. Submitted by: Kuulei |
