PECAN PIE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 c.)
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. chopped nuts

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup (light may be used)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and flour. Reserve the 2/3 cup cake mix. Combine remaining dry mix, butter, beaten egg and nuts. Mix well and put in pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Prepare filling by mixing all the remaining ingredients and beat 1 to 2 minutes with mixer. Pour over baked crust. Sprinkle with nuts. Return to oven and bake 20 to 30 minutes or until filling is set. Cool and cut into bars.
