WELSH COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 c. raisins or currants

Mix dry ingredients together. Work in Crisco until mixture is like coarse meal. Add beaten eggs and mix. Add milk, a little at a time, until mixture is right consistency to roll. Roll out to 1/4" thickness. Cut in 2" circles. Bake until brown on ungreased griddle.
